Investments

Please note that this firm is not authorised under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, but we are able in certain circumstances to offer a limited range of investment services to clients because we are members of The Law Society. We can provide these investment services if they are an incidental part of the professional services we have been engaged to provide. We are authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulations Authority and a complaints and redress mechanism in respect of these services are provided through the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Legal Ombudsman. For more complicated matters we may refer you to someone who is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority.

Insurance

This firm is an ancillary insurance intermediary so our insurance activity is limited in scope. We are not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). However, we are included on the register maintained by the FCA so that we may carry on insurance distribution activity, which is broadly the advising on, selling and administration of insurance contracts. This part of our business, including arrangements for complaints or redress if something goes wrong, is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. The register can be accessed via the FCA website (www.fca.org.uk/firms/financial-services-register). If you are unhappy with our insurance activity, you should raise your concerns with the Solicitors Regulation Authority or Legal Ombudsman.

Credit Broking

If you require commercial funding to pursue your matter we may be able to refer you to a relevant provider (such as a litigation funding provider specialist) in limited situations where this activity is incidental to the legal instructions we have from you. This firm is independent from lending companies and has no financial interest in any of them. We can work with a number of providers if we have identified that their terms are generally acceptable to our clients and in relation to the obligations they place upon us, particularly if proposing to deposit funds in our client account. We do not assess your suitability or eligibility for any loans. We are not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. As a result of being regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority we are authorised to assist with credit recommendations only in a general and limited sense but if you require specialised financial advice we would recommend you consult a suitably qualified and regulated financial adviser who can properly assess the whole lending market, your particular circumstances and your ability to repay a commercial loan.
